Why are so many Christians against anything that remotely resembles socialism when the bible teaches otherwise?

it would seem to me that most Christians turn out to be just normal people. normal folks like tit for tat and somebody else in charge to take the blame. those willing to take the blame will take the power. and we all know power corrupts.tmm
